Excellent lunch special. Got the lamb gyro with a side of fries. Tasted amazing. Love the guy working the tables. Gives that authentic vibe that only an immigrant who doesn’t have for American pleasantries knows.

Alexis Greek cafe not only has consistently delicious food but they also provide a one of a kind cozy atmosphere that is tough to match in the ever changing landscape of urban san diego. In addition, the process stay low to the good times and bad. Staff is very friendly and caring. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Would eat here again

They have the best liver and onion pita sandwich dinner combo w/ greek salad & lentil soup.Price at 14.50 is very reasonable and large portion. Been coming here for years..Help support this small business.

Wonderful food, properly priced, solid service, will be riding down here again and again.

Legit gyro! Served really fast. Prompt and friendly service throughout our dine in. Prices were excellent!

Can’t believe I haven’t written a review this excellent establishment. Fair prices, mellow ambiance, and great food. The head guy that works there is always hustling and provides great service. It’s a cornerstone of hillcrest. My personal favorite is the Greek dinner with gyro. Fresh salad, soup of the day, fries and gyro with pita. We go pretty regularly when we don’t make dinner, try it yourself, I doubt you’ll be disappointed. Lot of locals come through so you know it’s good.

What a great discovery! Lots of traditional Greek dishes and an amazing value. We had a party of 3 and ordered: Vegetarian sandwich and water and baklava for desert; #4 lunch combo platter and a soft drink; Vegetarian Moussaka platter and a soft drink. Each platter includes a starch option (fries or rice pilaf); salad and pita bread as well as tsatsiki sauce. The portions were generous, the salad was fresh and crispy. The tsatsiki was a little bland - but still tasty. I like tsatsiki with a little more tang of garlic and cucumber. The service was excellent and the food came out quickly. The interior of the restaurant is not heavily decorated and gives mom & pop vibes of an authentic Greek restaurant in the sense of focusing on the food and service rather than overloading you eyes with distractions. The server was to the point of taking your order and getting it into the kitchen - this could be misconstrued but he was very pleasant and accommodating. My serving was so filling I had a tiny bit to take home as a snack later. Now for the bill for all that I've listed, our total with tax and before tip was not even 36!!! In San Diego, Hillcrest area - that's a bargain! We loved it and I'll go back for the pasticio!

Absolutely the kindest small business owner and the best Greek food I have had yet. We got the gyro sandwiches and they were amazing. I mentioned we were in a bit of a hurry for an engagement session I had to photograph and so he had the food out so quickly for us. Truly will be coming back over and over. Cute decor, pride flags everywhere. Also— the lunch/happy hour special was amazing! Thank you!
